The Back Yard
Spend time in nature
The back yard project began in 2021 when the Friends of Bethlehem Public Library (FOBPL) built and installed the StoryWalk®, which winds through the woods toward the elementary school, and back again. Along the way, stop and read a story, page by page, at the podiums.
In 2022, the library received two grants through the Americans Recovery Plan Act (ARPA), the Institute for Museums and Libraries, and the NH State Library. This paid for a program pavilion, consisting of a seasonal tent, picnic benches, park benches, and four large musical instruments. FOBPL began installation of a pollinator educational garden, which will be expanded over the next several years.
With the help of the Odd Fellows Lodge #100 and many volunteers, everything was installed and ready for programs and patrons to enjoy.
